In Heartopia, a Town is a shared instance that hosts a maximum of 12 players. It is important to remember that Towns are not permanent; the game may place you in a different instance each time you log in. Don’t worry about your progress moving between towns will not affect your home, furniture, or garden. Your entire plot simply shifts its physical position to the new instance.
Note: This guide is regularly updated to match the latest Heartopia version. Last update: March 24, 2026.
1. How to Visit Your Friends
You can easily join your friends in their specific town through these methods:
- Open your Watch Icon, go to the Friendship Journal, and click "Visit" on a friend's name to teleport directly to them.
- Every town has a unique Town ID found in the General Tab. Share this ID with others so they can find your specific neighborhood instantly.
2. Navigating the Town Lobby
If you want to choose a town manually, click the "Return to Login" button in the General Tab. This will take you to the lobby where you can:
- Access Friend Towns to join instances where your friends are currently active.
- Browse All Towns for public instances. Use the Refresh Icon (two circular arrows) to find "quiet" towns with fewer players to significantly reduce lag.
- Create a Private Town for your community. To keep it secure, you must set a password with a minimum of 3 digits (single digits or characters are not supported).
3. My Town (Private Town) & House Assignment
When you enter a Private Town, the system assigns your plot in a fixed sequence. Since you cannot manually choose your house number, it follows this specific joining order:
| Joining Order | Assigned House Number |
|---|---|
| 1st Resident (Host) | House No. 6 |
| 2nd Resident | House No. 7 |
| 3rd Resident | House No. 5 |
| 4th Resident | House No. 8 |
| 5th Resident | House No. 4 |
| 6th Resident | House No. 9 |
| 7th Resident | House No. 3 |
| 8th Resident | House No. 10 |
| 9th Resident | House No. 2 |
| 10th Resident | House No. 11 |
| 11th Resident | House No. 1 |
| 12th Resident | House No. 12 |
Important Rules for Private Towns:
- Creating a Private Town consumes Moonlight Crystals for the first 24 hours, followed by Heart Diamonds for any additional time.
- GAMG Full Members receive a bonus of 24 hours for free each week, which is a great way to save resources.
- The town duration resets weekly. Once it expires, the town will automatically revert to a Public Town.
4. Managing Performance & Lag
To ensure smooth gameplay, especially on mid-to-low spec devices:
- Always look for towns with low populations by using the Refresh button in the lobby.
- Switch to Low Graphics settings whenever you visit busy towns with many large mansions.
- Starting a Private Town remains the most effective way to eliminate lag because it makes the instance much "lighter" for your device.
