Cooking is a vital activity in Heartopia, essential for restoring Energy, completing Achievements, and serving as a highly profitable method for accumulating Gold.
Ingredients can be sourced from four primary outlets NPC Massimo, the elusive NPC Doris, Gardening and Wild Foraging. In this guide, we’ll show you exactly where to find these materials and the best ways to collect them.
Note: This guide is regularly updated to match the latest Heartopia version. Last update: April 29, 2026.
1. Base Ingredients (Massimo’s Shop)
NPC Massimo is your primary source for essential proteins and pantry staples. He is usually located at Residential Street (Town), but remember that he will relocate during seasonal festivities.
Massimo has a daily purchase limit of 50 units for most base ingredients. We highly recommend stockpiling essentials every day!

2. Home-Grown Ingredients (Gardening)
It is important to note that all types of crops harvested in Heartopia are ingredients that can be used for cooking. Many recipes in Heartopia require a combination of base ingredients purchased from shops and crops grown in your own garden.

The rarest version! She only appears during a Rainbow. She is the only source for all types of colored sugar, including the rare warm tones like Red, Orange, Yellow, and Green. - Doris (Meteor)
